Hosting and server log files

This website and our email run on a virtual server that we operate ourselves on infrastructure rented from prepaid-hoster.de (Germany). When you visit the website, the web server automatically records technical data in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, requested file, amount of data transferred, and browser and operating system information (user agent).

Purpose: delivering the website and ensuring its security and stability. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Log files are deleted after 7 days.

Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) as DNS provider and as a reverse proxy and content delivery network. Requests to this website are routed through Cloudflare's servers, which process your IP address, request data and technical connection data in order to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare may set technical cookies that are strictly necessary for this security function.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and reliably available website). Cloudflare processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides the basis for any transfer of data to the USA (Art. 45 GDPR).

Contact by email

If you email us, we process your email address, the content of your message and any other data you provide, in order to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if the message relates to a contract. We delete the data once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Cookies

This website itself does not use cookies, tracking or analytics, and does not load external resources such as fonts.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Please contact us by email to exercise these rights.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Postfach 20 04 44, 40102 Düsseldorf, Germany.

Provision of data

You are not obliged to provide any personal data, but the technical data described above is necessary to visit the website. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
